A Girl in Salem: The Story of Mercy Lewis and the Salem Witch Trials

September 23 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Who was Mercy Lewis? Orphaned at around 17 years old, she found herself living in the household of Thomas and Ann Putnam Sr. and at the center of one of history’s most chilling episodes. In 1692, Mercy became one of several dozen people claiming “afflictions” during the Salem Witch Trials. Join us for this virtual lecture as we explore her life before, during, and after the trials, and uncover the remarkable story of a young woman caught up in one of colonial America’s darkest moments.
