Town History in Swampscott

See the Sir John Humphrey Memorial House, a colonial first period National Register-listed house along with indigenous geometric painted designs on the beams and paneling. Learn about our fishing industry, the era of summer hotels, the inventions of the lobster trap and dory, and the role that was played in the development of the airplane. We also have apotropaic markings or witch deterrent marks.

Please note that we are not handicapped accessible and have no restroom.

Guided tours will be offered at 10:15 am, 11:15 am & 12:15 pm. There is a 15 person limit per tour.
