The National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts invites you to a FREE public lecture.

Learn what the Puritans can teach the 21st century about civility.

The program will feature Dr. Robert Allison, Department of History at Suffolk University, and Dr. Dale Kuehne, chair of the Department of Ethics, Economics, and the Common Good at St. Anselm’s College, Manchester, NH.

At the reception following the talk, you will be able to see Puritan Boston weekday dresses from three socioeconomic classes in 1635. These garments are hand-sewn by Dame Ruby-Grace Miller and will be displayed and contrasted with a Virginia gown of the same period.

This program is part of the Dames’ Good Neighbor Series, a collaboration of Boston organizations that preserve and promote a knowledge of and appreciation for our Colonial heritage.

Other sponsors of this program: Boston AthenaeumNew England Beginnings, and Partnership of Historic Bostons.
